THE BRIEF
Our global leading mining and exploration client Sandvik needed a large brochure to fully highlight and detail their comprehensive range of core drill products. The finished product needed to be attractive, inviting and simple to navigate, yet incorporate both full product description and technical information.
The client also required a condensed product reference for the core drills range, incorporating both metric and imperial dimensions. Including 16 tables, it had to be tough, weather proof - and credit card size!
Additionally, the product range required a global advertising platform.
OUR RESPONSE
Quite a bit of creative thinking was needed to create and combine all this into the resulting 75-page brochure. The process included a detailed mapping of the content, and then two days of photographing all the diamond core bits in our studio. Features like a tab system for easy ordering reference made a pleasure to navigate.
An advertising campaign highlighting the product features was published in industry magazines globally.
It was time to brainstorm ideas for the flipchart. We took a deep breath. Tested prototypes for material durability, then created an easy to read, credit card sized flipchart, showing the metric measurements on one side of each page, imperial on the other.
The product also incorporates a carabiner, printed with website details, so drillers can attach the flipchart to their belts, or to the drill rigs themselves, for quick reference.
The brochure has proved a great success for Sandvik, with reprints globally. The flipchart a handy reference with increased demand to print in different languages and used by drillers all over the world.
